Construction Has Begun!
We have officially started construction on our second orphanage! The location is in Mexico, Pampanga which is approximately one hour north of Manila. We have partnered with a local organization in Mexico that already has an established orphanage, but the need for more room is so great, we are jumping in to help build additional orphanage space. In fact, there is plenty of room to build as much as we can to help take in many more orphans.
There’s Plenty of Land!
As you can tell from the above photos, there is plenty of land to build facilities that will be able to house a lot of orphans. And that’s the goal, to bring in and help as many as possible. There’s a squatter’s area not too far from here, from where a lot of the orphans will come. It’s a sad state to see the kids in the squatter’s camp but as you can see from the photo below, a much better life awaits them in the orphanage.
These are the kids who live in the existing orphanage in Mexico. Many of them came from the squatters/slum area that is close by. We are so grateful they were rescued from this severely impoverished area and brought to the orphanage. And that’s why we’re building more facilities in this location, because there are so many more children that need and deserve a chance at a better life.
