The orphanage foundation itself has no history as it was just formed in late 2010. The dream and concept, however, have been around for a while.

Co-Founder Dana Schroeder was himself an orphan, albeit for only three weeks. He was given up at birth and adopted by a wonderful family only three short weeks later. Over the years, reflecting on what it truly meant to be an orphan, he began to dream about one day building an orphanage. He never let go of that dream although in the United States, you can’t exactly go out and build an orphanage. It wasn’t until he met his Filipina wife, Debbie, that the realization of that dream would begin to take shape.

In addition to going to the Philippines four times, Dana did his homework on Filipino culture and customs to learn everything he could about this country. Suddenly, the dream was beginning to look like more than just a dream.

The initial plan was to pursue building an orphanage once they retire and move back to the Philippines. Within a couple of months of praying about that idea, the Lord made it clear that the time is now. Building an orphange is not a “retirement” plan….the need is serious and the need is now….which brings us to today.

When you begin to look around the website, we hope you will feel our heart, our desire and our passion – the heart for orphans and the desire and passion to make a difference in their lives. At present we don’t have much history, but we plan on making some!
