Our first project is on the island of Luzon which is the largest of the Philippine Islands and is home to its capital, Manila. Our efforts will be in the town of Manaoag which is located in the province of Pangasinan roughly 3 1/2 hours north of Manila. The town has a population of approximately 65,000 people and is home to one of the most famous Catholic Churches in the world, Our Lady of Manaoag. You can click here for more information on Manaoag.
Currently we are approaching this project from 2 different angles:
1. Capital Campaign – includes fundraising aimed at our target of $25,000 which will completely fund the constructing of the orphanage facility. We anticipate taking in up to 24 children once the facility is complete.
2. Monthly Support – Prior to the construction of our facility we are researching the possibility of finding space we can rent and begin to take in orphans. Monthly support depends on the number of children but our estimates show that we could take in up to 10 children which require monthly support levels between $500-$700.
We want to be very open and candid about the amount of money the project will take along with the timeframe in which the necessary funds are needed to break ground and eventually finish the project. We will keep our online community informed every step of the way. For even more detailed information, please feel free to email us at info@filipino-orphans.org.
