Changing Lives, Shaping Futures

To your left is a beautiful satellite picture of the Philippines from Google Earth. All of our efforts and all of our plans revolve around this beautiful country which is home to a population of more than 99 million people. Comparatively, the area occupied by the Philippines is slightly larger than the state of Arizona. However, the state of Arizona’s population is only a little more than 5 million.

Here’s the bottom line – the Philippines is a small, overcrowded and poverty sticken country. Think about this – one of the country’s biggest imports is money – money from Filipinos that live overseas. The true state of the nation is poor at best. As a result, the children of the Philippines suffer. Many are school drop-outs that roam day after day looking for food for themselves as well as their families. Others turn to crime such as stealing. And then there are others that are simply abandoned or sold by their parents.

Our heart’s desire is to plant a network of orphanages on these islands and make a significant difference in this country by leading and guiding the lives of orphans so they will grow up to be God-loving, responsible, honest, entrepreneurial and caring individuals. God willing, what we do will have a snowball effect that impacts the moral and economic climate of the Philippines for years to come.

The Philippines Orphanage Foundation has a five year plan that involves building one orphanage on each of the three main divisions of the Philippines – Luzon, Mindanao and Visayas. But this is only the first five years. Our dream is to build at least three orphanages every five years, maybe more. So over the next 20 years, Lord willing, we will have 12-15 orphanages housing hundreds and hundreds of orphans all over this beautiful country. Likewise our prayer is this effort will continue long after we are gone so literally thousands and thousands of lives will be shaped and guided by loving orphanages that point wonderful orphan children to our loving and wonderful Heavenly Father.
